Free Teen Baseball Program is a Home Run for Renton

13- and 14-year-olds can play free King of Kings baseball this spring

By Macaroni KID Renton-Newcastle-Mercer Island February 29, 2024

It’s time to play ball in Renton! The FREE King of Kings Baseball Club is ready to welcome kids ages 13 and 14 to the PONY (14u) Team.

If your kids are interested in playing baseball, now is the time to give it a try. There is no cost to participate—you even get a free hat and jersey.

The King of Kings Baseball Club is run by volunteers from Renton’s King of Kings Lutheran Church. The baseball program is non-religious and non-denominational. All are welcome!

King of Kings PONY Team

The PONY team is a good fit for kids with some baseball experience—but beginners can also play. (The team plays in competitive league games, so previous baseball experience is helpful.)

The Spring Season begins on March 16. There is no cost to participate. Parents and caregivers will need to provide transportation (car rides) to practices and the away games.

Each player during the Spring Season receives the following—for free:

  • King of Kings baseball hat
  • King of Kings baseball jersey
  • Other equipment, if needed (bats, batting helmets, gloves, catchers gear)
  • Tuesday and Thursday practices
  • Saturday games against other PONY affiliated teams in Western Washington:
    • 2 scrimmage games and 10 regular season games
      • 6 home games, 6 away games

Practice and Games

All practices are at the King of Kings Church at 18207 108th Ave SE, Renton WA  98055. There are 6 home games at that same location. The 6 away games will be in Kent/Renton, West Seattle, Seattle, and one night game in Sultan.

100% Volunteer Run

King of Kings Baseball Club is committed to providing no-cost, organized baseball to teens in the Benson Hill area. King of Kings also offers a program for older teens. The free programs are run 100% with donations and grants, and the hard work of some amazing volunteers. It’s one of the last remaining free baseball clubs in the state—and one of the things that makes Renton such a great place to live.

King of Kings Lutheran Church offers many free resources for the kids and families in our community. Learn more here: www.king-of-kings.org.
